A greener, cleaner, and healthier Wabash Valley

Dear Friends,

From all of us at reTHink, we thank our community for supporting us as we develop a non-profit organization that provides direct access to sustainable goods and services. After two years renting our current headquarters building, we are excited to announce that we have officially found a permanent home for our beloved organization. This new home is more energy-efficient, better suited to our needs, and will keep us working in comfortable conditions year-round. This building will better serve our needs and will allow us to fulfill our mission to this community and the Earth.

Our hope is that this new home will allow us to offer the Wabash Valley Community greater access to a larger and more diverse selection of sustainable products that are sourced not only from local reTHinkers and artisans but also produced directly from our Plastic Upcycling Workspace. Once our Precious Plastic machines are set up and operational, we hope to take our prototypes to the next level by ramping up our ability to create new, useful products, and give a second life to the plastics that would otherwise end up in a landfill—or worse, our landscape, its rivers, and ultimately the oceans.

Just beginning our journey in this new location at 1544 S 13th Street, we still need a number of eco-friendly upgrades before we move in and commence our expanded operations. This is all happening at the same time that we are launching our spring fundraising drive. We have identified the following objectives that will enhance our operations and make 2022 the most successful year in our organization’s history.

· Insulate and heat what will become our new Plastic Upcycling Workspace.

· Establish a fund for ongoing building maintenance to keep our new home as modern and sustainable as possible.

· Create a more cohesive zero-waste store for shoppers. (The first and only in Indiana!)

· Produce more fresh, organic, produce than ever before in our collection of community gardens. And, if you didn’t already know this, our produce is free to anyone in the Wabash Valley Community. We also hold salsa club/cooking classes for Ryves Youth Children every week.

· Continue our composting efforts to reduce the amount of food waste that ends up in landfills, creating methane gas, a potent greenhouse gas.

To make these objectives a reality, we require financial support from our community. We invite you to consider joining our efforts to make a cleaner, greener, healthier Wabash Valley by making a financial contribution to our fundraiser today. All donations, big and small, one-time or recurring, make a difference in the future of our children and this beautiful planet that they will inhabit for generations to come.
